The Designers and the Chris & Alix Company Philosophy

Chris & Alix Inc. specializes in designing high-end costume jewelry pieces as well as accessories for retail and wholesale. The pieces are locally designed in Montreal by Christine Loertscher and Alexandra Scherzer.

The jewelry is made of semi-precious stones, Swarovski pearls and crystals, freshwater pearls, sterling silver, vermeil and gold. Special attention is paid to the characteristics of each stone in order to create jewelry pieces that tie outfits together, showcase the wearer's personal style, and above all, bring a unique accent to all outfits.

The accessories are made primarily using vegetable ivory, also known as a Tagua Nut. This nut is the seed of a tree similar to a palm that grows in the tropical rainforests of some South American countries, such as Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela. The seed falls to the ground where it is collected, peeled and left to dry in the sun. The nut becomes extremely hard and mimics the colour, density and workability of elephant ivory.
